Material Study

Raw Matter

A material study from our sourcing trip to Oaxaca. The clay here has a particular iron content that produces a surface unlike anything found in European ceramics — warm, almost alive.

We spent a week with the Ramírez family, fourth-generation potters working the same seam of earth their great-grandmother discovered in 1912. We carry four of their pieces.
